Mountain View comes up short despite Brie Matchett's dominant performance

Recap: Mountain View Mountain Lions vs. Riverdale Ridge Ravens

The Mountain View Mountain Lions suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Thursday. They were beaten by Riverdale Ridge 74-25. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Mountain View has scored all season.

Despite the loss, Mountain View still got an impressive performance from Brie Matchett, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and two steals. That's the first time this season that Matchett grabbed two or more steals.

Riverdale Ridge found their leader in underclassman Brihanna Crittendon, who dropped a double-double on 41 points and 12 rebounds. Crittendon is absolutely dominating the point category: she's posted at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabby Herr, who scored 15 points along with six steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Mountain View and nudges their season record down to 5-4. As for Riverdale Ridge, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 9-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mountain View will take on Skyline at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Riverdale Ridge, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Fort Morgan at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fort Morgan comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
