Volleyball Recap: New Prairie Cougars vs. Lake Central Indians

New Prairie was the 2-1 winner over Lake Central when they last played one another back in August of 2018, but their luck changed this time around. The Cougars fell just short of the Indians by a score of 2-1 on Saturday.

Maggie Duszynski paced New Prairie's offense, picking up five kills. Duszynski got some help from Karigan Mamazza and her five assists. Mamazza was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Lake Central's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mariah Dattulo led the charge by getting ten digs and one assist.

New Prairie's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Lake Central, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-2.

Coming up, New Prairie is headed away from home for the first time to face off against Michigan City at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lake Central, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Illiana Christian on the 19th.
