Football Game Preview: Randolph-Henry Statesmen vs. Amelia County Raiders

Randolph-Henry hasn't had much luck against Amelia County recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Statesmen will head out on the road to square off against the Raiders at 7:00 p.m.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 43-8, which was the final score in Randolph-Henry's tilt against Buckingham on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Statesmen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 292nd, while the Knights are ranked 118th).

Amelia County never got on the board in their matchup last Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Prince Edward County on Friday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 45-12 win over the Eagles. The Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by 31 points or more this season.

The victory got Amelia County back to even at 3-3. As for Randolph-Henry, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 3-3.

Randolph-Henry strolled past Amelia County when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a score of 46-27. Will the Statesmen repeat their success, or do the Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
