Baseball Recap: Dulaney Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Ten must be Dulaney's lucky number: they beat Catonsville with that score not once but twice on Saturday. The Lions beat the Comets by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 10-4. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by six runs or more this season.

Dylan Townsend was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

In other pitching news, Connor Dow looked comfortable as he struck out ten batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024.

Back at the plate, Logan Park and Drew Ranck did most of the damage at the plate: Park went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and three runs, while Ranck went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. Park is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Frick, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Dulaney was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .441. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The victory (which was Dulaney's third in a row) raised their record to 13-6-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Catonsville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-8.

Dulaney has already played their next matchup, an 8-1 victory against Towson on the 13th. Catonsville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
