Softball Recap: West Genesee Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

West Genesee had lost four games straight , but after bumping their record up to 8-11 on Saturday that streak is in the rearview. They came out on top against the East Syracuse-Minoa Spartans by a score of 6-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 16-5 back in April.

Lorelai Leskoske spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Christina Guglielmi was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Makayla Dunham was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

As for East Syracuse-Minoa, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 12 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. They have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

On East Syracuse-Minoa's side, Ava Burry was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double.

As of now, neither West Genesee nor the Spartans have any future games scheduled.
