Baseball Recap: Summerfield Waldorf Wins Going Away Against Drew

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Summerfield Waldorf). They blew past the Drew Dragons 13-3 on Monday. With that victory, the Mustangs brought their scoring average up to 7.2 runs per game.

Lazlo G made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. G was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Marcus J was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI. Luca C was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

Summerfield Waldorf always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Summerfield Waldorf now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Drew, their loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-7.

Looking ahead, Summerfield Waldorf will head out to take on Technology at 4:00 p.m. on April 1. As for Drew, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Galileo at 3:30 p.m. on April 24.
