Basketball Game Preview: New Hampstead Phoenix vs. Perry Panthers

The New Hampstead Phoenix will square off against the Perry Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for New Hampstead and three for Perry.

On Monday, New Hampstead came up short against Bradwell Institute and fell 51-44. The match marked the Phoenix's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Perry was beaten by Houston County 73-42 on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 504th, while the Bears are ranked 56th).

New Hampstead's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Perry, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.

New Hampstead strolled past Perry in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 by a score of 73-56. Will New Hampstead repeat their success, or does Perry have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
