Baseball Game Preview: East Hickman County Eagles vs. Harpeth Indians

For the second straight game, East Hickman County will face off against Harpeth. The Eagles will be playing at home against the Indians at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. East Hickman County hasn't scored more than two runs for three games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.

On Tuesday, East Hickman County came up short against Harpeth and fell 5-2.

For Harpeth's part, Hudson Clark spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up 11 Ks. Clark has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Aaron Higgs was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. Hudson Ealy was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-1.

Harpeth has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for East Hickman County, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. East Hickman County has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Harpeth struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
