Baseball Recap: Prairie du Chien Comes Up Short

Prairie du Chien was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 8-3 to the Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau Red Hawks. The Blackhawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Red Hawks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Jack Simmons made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Those runs were his first of the season.

Prairie du Chien's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-2.

Looking ahead, Prairie du Chien is taking a road trip to square off against Cuba City at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Viroqua at 5:00 p.m.
