            Baseball Preview: Griffith Panthers vs. Calumet New Tech Warriors        
        
		
        
        
            Griffith is  a perfect 10-0 against Calumet New Tech since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Panthers will venture away from home to  challenge the Warriors  at 5:00  p.m. Griffith is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.3  runs per game  this season.
While Griffith didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They were the clear victors by  a  10-3 margin over Thornton Fractional South on Saturday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Panthers needed considering they were shut out in their previous   match.

 Jackson Davenport made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out nine batters over  6.1 innings while giving up just one earned  (and two unearned) runs off   two  hits. Those  nine  strikeouts gave  him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate,  getting on base  in two of his four plate appearances with two  runs and one  stolen base.
 In other batting news,  Jason Quillin was  incredible,  getting on base  in all four of his plate appearances with two  runs, two  doubles,  and two  RBI.  Anthony Feliciano was another key player,  going 2-for-3 with one  stolen base, one  run,  and one  double.
 Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Calumet New Tech's offense. They lost  31-0 to Illiana Christian on Tuesday. The  loss leaves the Warriors still looking for their first win of the season.
 Griffith is  on a roll lately: they've  won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record  this season. As for Calumet New Tech, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.
 Everything went Griffith's way against Calumet New Tech in their previous matchup  back in April of 2024, as Griffith made off with  a  14-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
