Football Recap: White County Comes Up Short

White County extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping them down to 0-5. They were dealt a 56-14 loss at the hands of the North Hall Trojans. The Warriors lost against the Trojans in their previous head to head back in September of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 35-21 score last time.

White County's loss came despite strong showings from Gaines Clark and Alex Freeman. Clark picked up 99 receiving yards and one TD, while Freeman threw for 223 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

As for North Hall, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 48.4 points this season.

North Hall got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Alex Schlieman out in front who threw for 385 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. The dominant performance also gave Schlieman a new career-high in passer rating (160.4). Cole Cable also helped out with an impressive 214 receiving yards.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. White County will venture away from home to face off against Lumpkin County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Indians will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last. As for North Hall, they will head out on the road to take on Pickens at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans will need to watch out since the Dragons have now posted at least 31 points in their last four matches.
