Baseball Recap: Marinette Takes a Loss

Marinette lost against Little Chute on Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Marines fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 5-3. That's two games in a row now that the Marines have lost by exactly two runs.

Sawyer Walters made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That run marked the first that he has scored this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Marinette and nudges their season record down to 7-5. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only two runs. As for Little Chute, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 6-2.

Coming up, Marinette will venture away from home to face off against Waupaca at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Marines are facing the Comets at the right time seeing as the Comets are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Little Chute, they will welcome Mosinee at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
