Volleyball Recap: Grayson Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Laila Holley and Laila Colegrove

Grayson lost against Brookwood back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Rams fell just short of the Broncos by a score of 2-1. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Grayson sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 21-25, 16-14.

Grayson's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Laila Colegrove, who had 11 digs, and Laila Holley, who had seven digs and one assist. Leah Lacossiere also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Grayson's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Brookwood, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.

Grayson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Winder-Barrow on the 19th. As for Brookwood, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Mill Creek on the 14th.
