Baseball Game Preview: Spruce Creek Hawks vs. Winter Springs Bears

The Spruce Creek Hawks will head out on the road to face off against the Winter Springs Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

While Hawks fans will have to keep waiting for their team to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Tuesday's season opener. They never let New Smyrna Beach onto the board and left with an 8-0 win on Tuesday.

Spruce Creek got a great performance from Jordan Livingston as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over 4.2 innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Spruce Creek let Tate Haag and Lamar Edwards loose on the outfield. Haag scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2, while Edwards scored a run while going 1-for-3. Peyson Garcia was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Winter Springs made easy work of Deltona on Thursday and carried off an 8-1 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bears.
