Flag Football Recap: Braleigh Wansley and Mia Bouton Secure Win for Buford

The Buford Wolves earned an 18-6 victory over the Clarke Central Gladiators on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wolves.

A big part of Buford's win came down to the chemistry between Mia Bouton and her top target Braleigh Wansley. Bouton threw for 119 yards and three touchdowns while Wansley picked up 32 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. What's more, Bouton racked up 43 rushing yards, the most she's had since back in November of 2024.

Buford didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Makena Serna and Wansley.

Buford's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Clarke Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Buford and Clarke Central should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. The Wolves will square off against Mountain View at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank advantage (18 vs. 112). The two teams have allowed few points on average (Buford 9.8, the Bears 13.8) so any points scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Clarke Central (ranked 42nd) will meet Salem (ranked 126th) at 5:30 p.m. on the 16th.
