Basketball Recap: Grand Canyon Now 3-1 over Last Four Games

Grand Canyon won the last time they faced Mayer, and Jaemie Jensen did her part to make sure it happened again. The Grand Canyon Phantoms were the clear victor by a 49-29 margin over the Mayer Wildcats on Tuesday thanks in part to Jensen, who dropped a triple-double on 28 points, 14 boards, and 17 steals. That makes it 16 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Grand Canyon's points.

Another player making a difference was Amelia Walls, who posted four points in addition to seven blocks and five rebounds. Those seven blocks gave her a new career-high.

Grand Canyon has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-9 record this season. As for Mayer, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.

Grand Canyon will square off against Red Rock at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mayer has already played their next contest, a 38-34 loss against Anthem Prep on the 22nd.
