Basketball Recap: Marshall Phoenix vs. Burton Pumas
Even though the Marshall Phoenix have not done well against the Burton Pumas recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Marshall walked away with a 53-43 win over the Pumas. The win made it back-to-back wins for Marshall.
Marshall's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Robert Fields, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Tayvion Lawrence was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with six rebounds.
Marshall has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 4-11 record this season. As for Burton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-17.
Marshall will head out on the road to take on the Hawks at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Burton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Phoenix at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
