Softball Recap: Mercy Triumphs

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Mercy had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Fairdale Bulldogs a 15-0 shutout. The Jaguars have beaten the Bulldogs the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Bulldogs has come to flipping the script.

Ava Reinhart was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. Allie Streble was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.

Mercy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Mercy's victory bumped their record up to 18-13. As for Fairdale, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-19.

Mercy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, an 11-2 win against North Bullitt on the 22nd. Fairdale does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
