Linn and Dixon are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2016, but likely not for long. The Wildcats will be taking part in a tournament against the Bulldogs at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Linn 4, Dixon 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Linn easily dispatched Fayette last Tuesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Wildcats fell just short of Tipton by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday.

Linn saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tryten Reynolds, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Reynolds also hit a double, marking his first of the season.

Meanwhile, Dixon waltzed into their game on Thursday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Tigers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bulldogs have posted since April 15, 2024.

Dixon pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Linn, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.
