Basketball Recap: St. Francis Comes Up Short

St. Francis lost against Wallace County back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The St. Francis Indians were outmatched by the Wallace County Wildcats and fell 64-33. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 269th, while the Wildcats are ranked 23rd).

St. Francis' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Delaney Myers, who went 6 for 11 en route to 15 points and seven boards. Myers is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. Another player making a difference was Eden Britton, who went 5 of 11 on her way to 11 points and three steals.

St. Francis is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9. As for Wallace County, their win bumped their record up to 10-1.

St. Francis didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 51-33 defeat against Decatur Community on the 24th. Wallace County has also already played their next game, a 56-37 victory against Greeley County on the 24th.
