Basketball Recap: Wellington Falls Short of Oak Ridge in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Wellington can now relate to. They lost 91-65 to the Oak Ridge Pioneers on Monday. The Wolverines have struggled against the Pioneers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Several Wolverines players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Rashard Reinhardt, who posted 11 points and seven boards. What's more, Reinhardt also posted two blocks, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jeremy Tovar, who put up 16 points.

Wellington's defeat dropped their record down to 22-5. As for Oak Ridge, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-9.

Wellington does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Oak Ridge, they will take on Windermere at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Windermere knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 28 matches -- so hopefully Oak Ridge likes a good challenge.
