Softball Recap: Eastern Randolph Wildcats vs. North Moore Mustangs
Eastern Randolph extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 2-13. They came up short against the North Moore Mustangs, falling 16-6. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-3 on Tuesday.
Shelby Williams was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple was her first of the season. Hailey Ritter was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one double.
As for North Moore, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-10. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won five matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
On North Moore's side, they got a massive performance out of Lyla Nelson, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs Nelson has posted since back in March of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Harleigh Carlyle, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Eastern Randolph is set to face off against their familiar foe Jordan-Matthews at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, North Moore will square off against rival Southwestern Randolph at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
