Softball Recap: Weiser Has No Trouble Against Payette

Weiser lost to Payette on Monday, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Wednesday. The Wolverines were the clear victors by a 17-1 margin over the Pirates. Considering the Wolverines have won 13 contests by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Ellie Shirts, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four stolen bases, four runs, and three doubles. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high. Jessica Waite was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.

Weiser always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Payette only posted an OBP of .278.

Weiser's victory bumped their record up to 14-5. As for Payette, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-12.

As of now, neither Weiser nor the Pirates have any future games scheduled.
