Baseball Recap: Espanola Valley Comes Up Short

Espanola Valley couldn't beat Los Alamos on Saturday even though they stacked six runs on them in the second inning. The Sundevils lost 18-9 to the Hilltoppers. The defeat continues a trend for the Sundevils in their meetings with the Hilltoppers: they've now lost nine in a row.

Darrian Archuleta made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Tyller Lomayma was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Espanola Valley's loss dropped their record down to 5-16. As for Los Alamos, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Los Alamos beat Espanola Valley by a score of 16-10 later that day.
