Staples faced New Canaan in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Wreckers walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Rams. The win was nothing new for the Wreckers as they're now sitting on five straight.

Staples had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-17, 25-17, 25-18.

Staples pushed their record up to 8-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for New Canaan, with the loss, they broke their 12-game winning streak and moved their record to 14-3.

Staples does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for New Canaan, they will be playing at home against Ridgefield at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
