Softball Recap: Manvel Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Manvel waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Alvin Yellowjackets. This was a revenge game for the Mavericks: when they faced off against the Yellowjackets back in March, they had to take a 7-6 defeat.

The team relied heavily on Skylar Frederick, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Karsyn Carrier, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Manvel pushed their record up to 13-9 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Alvin, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-9-1.

Coincidentally, Manvel and Alvin will both be playing Dawson the next time they take the field. The Yellowjackets will host the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Mavericks will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
