Volleyball Recap: Dawson Beats Dobie for Their Ninth Straight Victory

Dawson waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. Everything went their way against the Dobie Longhorns as they made off with a 3-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in August.

The final score came out to 25-6, 25-12, 25-17.

Dawson had a senior duo take command as Isabella Tijerina had 12 digs and Jenna Thedford had four digs and three aces. Those 12 digs set a new season-high mark for Tijerina.

Dawson was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 20 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in six consecutive contests.

Dawson's victory bumped their record up to 29-4. As for Dobie, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-13.

Coincidentally, Dawson and Dobie will both be playing Pasadena Memorial the next time they take the court. The Eagles will head out to face the Mavericks at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Longhorns will host them at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
