Basketball Recap: Jaylan Brown's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Uwharrie Charter Academy over Randleman

If Uwharrie Charter Academy was feeling good fresh off their 72-30 takedown of Trinity last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Uwharrie Charter Academy Eagles took a 77-66 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Randleman Tigers on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 245th, while the Tigers are ranked 88th).

Uwharrie Charter Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jaylan Brown, who went 6 of 7 from beyond the arc en route to 18 points. Thanks to that strong game, Brown now owns an excellent 46.8% shooting accuracy. Another player making a difference was Braeden Lamb, who shot 4-for-4 from long range and almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards.
