Soccer Recap: Sandia Takes a Loss

Sandia lost against Volcano Vista back in August, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Matadors came up short against the Hawks, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, Sandia can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico soccer rankings (they are ranked 40th, while Volcano Vista are ranked third).

This is the second loss in a row for Sandia and nudges their season record down to 2-6. As for Volcano Vista, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.

Coming up, Sandia will face off against Mayfield at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Volcano Vista, they will be playing at home against La Cueva at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
