Kennedy waltzed into their match on Wednesday with 14 straight wins... but they left with 15. They came out on top against the Katella Knights by a score of 74-66. Given the Fighting Irish's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 244th, while the Knights are ranked 620th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jace Aikins, who went 9 of 17 en route to 21 points. Aikins is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Dillon Curtis, who went 7 for 17 on his way to 19 points and five boards.

Kennedy pushed their record up to 19-4 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.7 points per game. As for Katella, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-6.
