Basketball Recap: Greene County Takes a Loss

Greene County lost against Tuscaloosa Academy last Thursday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Greene County Tigers took a 49-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tuscaloosa Academy Knights.

Despite the loss, Greene County still got an impressive performance from Za'Kyia Manning, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 boards. Manning has been hot recently, having posted ten or more rebounds the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Janyria Hutton, who posted four points and nine assists.

Greene County's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Tuscaloosa Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Greene County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 59-39 win against Aliceville on the 17th. Tuscaloosa Academy has also already played their next game (against Oak Grove), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
