Waubonsie Valley and DeKalb are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2017, but not for long. The Waubonsie Valley Warriors will head out to face off against the DeKalb Barbs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a seven-game winning streak alive.

On Wednesday, Waubonsie Valley didn't have too much trouble with Naperville Central as they won 75-59. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked ninth, while the Redhawks are ranked 298th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, DeKalb was able to grind out a solid victory over Metea Valley on Wednesday, taking the game 65-53.

DeKalb's win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.6 points over those games. As for Waubonsie Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 29-1.

Waubonsie Valley strolled past DeKalb in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 by a score of 53-39. The rematch might be a little tougher for Waubonsie Valley since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
