Basketball Recap: Santa Rosa Skates Past IDEA Quest College Prep with Ease

While Santa Rosa didn't have the best season last year (they finished 13-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past the IDEA Quest College Prep Trailblazers 38-9 on Saturday. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 27 points or more this season.

Santa Rosa was led to victory by Kamryn Navarro and Mia Garza. Navarro dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 boards, while Garza went 7 of 13 on her way to 14 points, to go along with six rebounds and five steals. Garza has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 12 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bea Garza, who posted two points, to go along with six boards and three steals.

Santa Rosa is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 18.7 points per game. As for IDEA Quest College Prep, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Santa Rosa will venture away from home to square off against Progreso at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Santa Rosa has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for IDEA Quest College Prep, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Idea Academy at 6:00 p.m. on December 17th.
