Softball Recap: Spring Grove Takes a Loss

Spring Grove suffered their closest loss since May 1, 2024 on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Dover Eagles by a score of 15-13. The Rockets have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Spring Grove got a massive performance out of Makennah Stiles, who went 3-for-4 with two triples, four RBI, and two runs. Those RBI marked the first that Stiles brought in this season. Another player making a difference was London Parks, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Spring Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Dover, they moved to 3-3 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Spring Grove will welcome Boiling Springs at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. Boiling Springs has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.43 runs per game on average), something Spring Grove will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Dover, they will be playing at home against Lancaster Catholic at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. Lancaster Catholic's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Dover's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
