Baseball Recap: Papillion-LaVista South Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Papillion-LaVista South can now relate to. They fell just short of the Millard North Mustangs by a score of 5-3 on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 last Monday.

Papillion-LaVista South got a good showing from Jackson Willer, who kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave Willer a new career-low in hits (zero).

At the plate, Papillion-LaVista South saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Michael Jellen, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Papillion-LaVista South's loss dropped their record down to 24-9. As for Millard North, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 21-11.

As of now, neither Papillion-LaVista South nor the Mustangs have any future games scheduled.
