Soccer Recap: Waupaca Takes a Loss

Waupaca was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 8-0 to the Hortonville Polar Bears. While losing is never fun, Waupaca can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin soccer rankings (they are ranked 237th, while Hortonville are ranked eighth).

Waupaca's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12-2. As for Hortonville, their win bumped their record up to 17-0-3.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Waupaca will square off against Mosinee at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hortonville, they will challenge Wausau West at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wausau West's last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
