            Softball Recap: Forest Wildcats vs. Buchholz Bobcats        
        
		
        
        
            It was a proper cat-fight when  Forest duked it out with Buchholz on Monday. The Forest Wildcats lost  11-5 to the Buchholz Bobcats. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bobcats apparently hadn't forgotten their  defeat the last time these teams played  back in April of 2024.
 Mahri Lingle made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  scored two  runs and  stole  Two bases. while going 1-for-4. She has been hot recently, having  posted  at least one  stolen base the last three times she's  played. The team also got some help courtesy of  Rilynn Fountain, who  scored a  run while going 3-for-4.
 Even though they lost, Forest  hit smart and  finished the game with only one  strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their  strikeout total in three consecutive  games.

The  loss snapped Forest's winning streak at three games  and leaves them with a 3-3 record. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Buchholz, their win was  their third straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 6-1.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Forest will welcome DeLand  at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Buchholz, they will look to defend their home field  on Tuesday against Lake Weir  at 7:00  p.m. Buchholz is facing Lake Weir at the right time seeing as Lake Weir is stuck on  a  five-game losing streak.
