Basketball Recap: Montgomery Central Victorious

Even if it wasn't a dominant performance, the Montgomery Central Timberwolves beat the Wheatmore Warriors 50-44 on Thursday.

Wheatmore's loss came despite strong showings from Truman Auman and Collin Dodd. Auman almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 13 rebounds, while Dodd posted nine points and four steals. Another player making a difference was Jordan Starkey, who scored nine points.

The win got Montgomery Central back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, after both having extra time off, Montgomery Central and North Stanly will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:30 p.m. on the 2nd. As for Wheatmore, they have already played their next contest, a 66-49 defeat against East Rowan on the 21st.
