Softball Recap: Chugiak Picks Up Tenth Consecutive Win

Chugiak put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against the West Anchorage Eagles as they made off with a 21-3 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 13-1 two weeks ago.

Chugiak got a massive performance out of Isabel Sjostrand, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn McCormick, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Chugiak kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive contests.

Chugiak's win bumped their record up to 10-0. As for West Anchorage, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Looking ahead, Chugiak will square off against South Anchorage at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for West Anchorage, they will take on Homer in a tournament on Thursday.
