Basketball Game Preview: Orangeburg-Wilkinson Bruins vs. Brookland-Cayce Bearcats

Orangeburg-Wilkinson is 8-1 against Brookland-Cayce since December of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Bruins will face off against the Bearcats at 3:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Orangeburg-Wilkinson had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell 62-53 to Sumter on Wednesday.

Loss or not, Orangeburg-Wilkinson got some senior leadership from Jordan Robins and Jordan McGahee. Robins shot 70% from the field to rack up 16 points and seven rebounds, while McGahee posted 11 points. McGahee is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 46% in the last nine games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Kaleb Jamison, who earned seven points.

Meanwhile, Brookland-Cayce lost to Fox Creek on the road by a 61-43 margin on Wednesday.

Orangeburg-Wilkinson skirted past Brookland-Cayce 42-40 in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bruins since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
