Fairfield had won seven straight games and Alyssa Bales did her part to make it eight on Wednesday. The Lions put the hurt on the Manchester Greyhounds with a sharp 3-0 win thanks in part to Bales, who had 17 digs and two aces. She has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last ten times she's played.

Fairfield not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Manchester between 15 and 18 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-18, 25-17.

Fairfield's victory bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Manchester, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.
