Baseball Game Preview: Elbert Bulldogs vs. Calhan Bulldogs

Elbert will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Calhan at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Elbert fell victim to Simla and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 11-0 to the Cubs. The defeat continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Cubs: they've now lost seven in a row.

Meanwhile, Calhan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against SkyView Academy, falling 11-1.

Brock Burnside was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Toby Monger also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Elbert's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Calhan, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7-2.

Everything went Elbert's way against Calhan in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Elbert made off with a 10-4 victory. Does Elbert have another victory up their sleeve, or will Calhan turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
