Softball Recap: Hanson Memorial Takes a Loss

Hanson Memorial was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 13-5 to the St. Michael Warriors. The Tigers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Warriors from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Claire Childres was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Emma Pitre was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Laila Hidalgo was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Hanson Memorial's loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for St. Michael, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season.

While Hanson Memorial had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
