League recap: SCISA AA Region II's Holly Hill Academy jumps in national rankings

SCISA AA Region II league recap: 5/21/12

Holly Hill Academy went from 4561 to 3126 in the national rankings since last week after going 2-1 in the past seven days. The Raiders are currently No. 69 in the South Carolina state rankings, with an overall record of 22-8.

Thomas Sumter Academy currently sits at the top of the league with a mark of 7-6 overall and 4-1 in the league. Holly Hill Academy is -1.5 game back and in second place with a 9-3 league record.

The Raiders' pitching staff dominated this week, allowing only 12 hits and five walks, both of which led the league. On the season, Holly Hill Academy has allowed just 132 hits, while striking out 181 batters. Seth Swank leads Holly Hill Academy with 66 strikeouts in 76 innings pitched.

The week's strikeout crown belonged to Kyle Clark, who turned in two Ks for the Raiders. With 51 strikeouts this year so far, he ranks second in the league.
