Basketball Recap: Village Makes It Five in a Row on the Road

After losing to St. Pius X the last time they met, Village decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Village Vikings strolled past the St. Pius X Panthers with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 58-40.

St. Pius X's loss came despite strong showings from Kellen Biley and Oliver Bowne. Biley went 5 of 9 en route to 12 points and seven boards, while Bowne posted ten points and three steals. That's the most points Bowne has posted since back in November of 2023.

Village pushed their record up to 13-13 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points per game. As for St. Pius X, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-17 record this season.

Village wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 56-36 defeat against Houston Christian on the 14th. St. Pius X has also already played their next contest, a 53-49 win against St. John XXIII on the 14th.
