Baseball Game Preview: Delone Catholic Squires vs. West York Area Bulldogs

The Delone Catholic Squires will head out to challenge the West York Area Bulldogs at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Delone Catholic has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with five straight losses, while West York Area will come in with three straight victories.

Monday just wasn't the day for Delone Catholic's offense. They came up short against Bermudian Springs on Monday, falling 15-0.

Delone Catholic saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Preston Younkins, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base. Aiden Groft also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, West York Area got themselves on the board against Susquehannock on Monday, but Susquehannock never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 10-0 win. That looming 10-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Bulldogs yet this season.

Delone Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for West York Area, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Delone Catholic couldn't quite get it done against West York Area in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 as they fell 11-6. Can Delone Catholic avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
