Volleyball Recap: Cotter Takes a Loss

The Cotter Ramblers didn't have quite enough to beat the New Life Academy Eagles on Saturday and fell 2-1. While the Ramblers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Eagles 25-21 in the first set.

Cotter was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made New Life Academy work for it, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 26-24, 15-7.

Despite the loss, Cotter saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Sydney Repinski had 11 digs and one assist. Repinski is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last seven games she's played.

Cotter's defeat dropped their record down to 11-5. As for New Life Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-1.

Cotter wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Caledonia on the 20th. As for New Life Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Hawley on the 20th.
