Baseball Recap: Boone Grove's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to 12

Boone Grove extended their postseason success on Saturday against Wheeler. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Bearcats. The result was nothing new for the Wolves, who have now won 17 contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Javy Carrera was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run.

In other batting news, Boone Grove let Seth Pitcock and Caleb Thomas run wild. Pitcock went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Thomas went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That stolen base marked the first that Thomas has snagged this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Maxwell Truby, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Boone Grove lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

The win was the 12th in a row for Boone Grove, bringing their record up to 22-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for Wheeler, their loss dropped their record down to 11-17.

As of now, neither Boone Grove nor the Bearcats have any future games scheduled.
