Soccer Game Preview: Academy for Classical Education vs. Mary Persons

The Academy for Classical Education Gryphons will look to take advantage of their home pitch for the first time this season as they take on the Mary Persons Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mary Persons took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Academy for Classical Education, who comes in off a win.

Academy for Classical Education will bounce into Tuesday's contest after beating Perry, who they had gone 0-4 against in their four prior meetings. Academy for Classical Education's defense stepped up to hand Perry a 4-0 shutout on Saturday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Gryphons needed considering they were shutout in their previous game.

They hit Perry with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Edy Powell, Addy Clark, Slayton Marbut, and Lily Bivens.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Mary Persons' offense. They lost 4-0 to Harris County on Friday. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mary Persons' defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Academy for Classical Education, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
