Softball Recap: Clinton Arrows vs. Newton County Cougars
Clinton got themselves on the board against Newton County on Friday, but Newton County never followed suit. They walked away with a 4-0 win over the Cougars. This was a revenge game for the Arrows: when they faced off against the Cougars back in February, they had to take a 5-3 loss.
The result came thanks to Annalise Whitworth's shutout, as she gave up just a hit.
On the hitting side, Destiny Funchess was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one home run. Another player making a difference was Jaelyn Gholar, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
